How is our training better and more efficient? Well, we can tell you that Elite VBC club founder Andrew Vazquez was trained at length by one of the best technical volleyball coaches In The World, the coach of Misty May and Kerri Walsh and many more pro's,
Gold Medal Coach Dane Selznick.
And that founder Andrew Vazquez has competed in multiple sports at the division I and professional level, has been a personal trainer and coach for the past 18 years, has been trained by world class trainers, ranked in the top 50 in the country as a professional, lead the AVP tour in digs at the inception of the dig statistic and competed professionally for over 11 years qualifying again in 2009 after a 4 year layoff. He has also lead 4 different high schools to CIF playoffs with multiple appearances in CIF semifinals, multiple appearances at the Division IIa level, the 2nd highest level in high school sports, and lead the Thousand Oaks High School Boys team to their best 3 years in school history with quarterfinal and 2 semi-final appearances, the boys programs first ever bid to Regional/State playoffs and only the 2nd bid ever in volleyball in the schools history.
There is no other coach in our area that even comes close to having this type of combined experience and Success as both coach and player.........No wonder Elite is the best at what they do
The Elite Volleyball Club, established in 2002, has been leading the way in technical and physical training in the club volleyball environment. Opening our doors in 2002, we were the ONLY club in the greater San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Sherman Oaks, Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Moorpark areas to promote and offer to all of our club players the opportunity to do physical training to enhance technical skills. Founded by a professional athlete who has competed at the Division I level and beyond in multiple sports and had been training athletes at competitive levels since 1992, we pushed surrounding clubs into the 21st century by offering the complete athletic training package. Now you would be hard pressed to find any club in our area that doesn't talk about some type of training, jump training, core work, you name it, we brought it to the club setting in this area. And although we are ecstatic that other clubs are doing their best to catch up to ELITE, we are still the best at what we do, training athletes to their full potential.
The Elite Volleyball Club and my lifes work will forever be dedicated to my father, Edward Sr., who passed away on the morning of September 30, 2010. His memory will live on forever through this tribute and his family.
A tireless worker and perpetual optimist his energy, charisma, intelligence and humor propelled not just his family, but all who knew him to greater things in their lives.
Father, friend, coach, teacher, corporate man and proprietor, he wore many hats and wore them all well. Holding multiple masters degrees and pursuing not just higher levels of education but higher levels of awareness and understanding his perseverance in all aspects of life was driving motivation for everyone who knew him.
As the career athlete my childhood memories include so many different aspects of sport. Training, practices, tournaments, travel, but the memories that stand out the most, some of my greatest childhood memories, have always been centered around my father. The years he coached my club teams. The tournaments he took time off of work to attend with me and support my athletic career, and the few times we had throughout the hectic schedule to get away from it all, fishing, hiking, exploring.
He has been there through everything for me. My double ACL tear in college, that ended my college soccer career and goal of professional play. The revival of my athletic career through volleyball and one of my first ever AVP events in Atlanta, GA near my hometown of Knoxville TN. The shattered bone in my left hand that put a screeching halt to my climb up the professional volleyball ladder. He has always been there, giving his support and guidance, hoping and helping me create a path that he knew would bring joy to my life and to his.
My father forever inspired my family and I , accomplishing so many things centered around his family in his lifetime, our gratitude and love for him goes beyond the scope of what words can express.
My Father, Edward A. Vazquez Sr., may you rest in peace,
my time spent with you and your memory will live on forever
